Nature Inspired Palettes

USING THE WORLD AROUND US TO COLOR OUR INTERIOR ENVIRONMENTS

Did you ever stop to wonder why people are drawn to spending time outdoors?  Could it be the aroma of warm, fragrant breezes?  The sound of snow crunching under boots on a wintry hike? The sweet taste of salty ocean air?  

Yes!  All of the above!  But what sometimes goes unnoticed, aside from a spectacular sunset or a particularly dramatic cloud formation, are the amazing color palettes that surround us in the outside world.  Let’s think about the sky for a moment.  It’s all around us, no matter where we look;  it can be very light blue to a deep indigo.  Surrounding trees are hundreds of shades of green.  Trees seen in the distance appear grey, and new trees in the spring are almost yellow.  Blues and greens, because they are so predominantly featured in the nature which surrounds us, are naturally calming, pleasing, invigorating, energizing colors on which to build your interior environment with paint.
